One-Pan Thai Basil Turkey Skillet
A flavorful, aromatic dish that comes together in under 20 minutes.
Ingredients:
• 1 lb ground turkey (or chicken)
• 1 tbsp avocado or olive oil
• 1 small onion, diced
• 3 cloves garlic, minced
• 1 bell pepper, diced
• 1 zucchini, diced (optional but adds volume)
• 1–2 cups fresh basil leaves (Thai basil if available)
• 2 tbsp coconut aminos
• 1 tbsp fish sauce (optional but authentic)
• 1 tsp chili flakes OR 1 chopped jalapeño (optional for heat)
• 1 tsp ginger powder OR 1 tbsp fresh grated ginger
• Salt & pepper to taste
• Optional family toppings: lime wedges, sliced cucumber, cilantro
Directions:
- Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high.
- Add onion and bell pepper; sauté 3–4 minutes.
- Add ground turkey; break apart and cook until browned.
- Stir in garlic, ginger, coconut aminos, fish sauce (if using), chili flakes, salt, and pepper.
- Add zucchini and cook another 2–3 minutes until slightly tender.
- Turn off heat, toss in a big handful of basil, and let it wilt into the mixture.
