My #1 Hack for a Healthier, Saner Holiday Season
After more than 20 years of working as a health coach, I can tell you exactly what December sounds like inside most people’s heads—men and women:
“I’m skipping carbs.”
“I’m not touching dessert.”
“I’m going to be ‘perfect’ this week.”
And honestly? It’s exhausting.
The holidays are full, emotional, joyful, overwhelming, and unpredictable. Layering strict rules on top of everything else usually backfires.
Here’s what actually works—every time, for every body:
Choose ONE thing you’ll do each morning to support your health. Just one.
Not five new habits.
Not a whole reboot between parties.
Just one morning anchor that makes you feel grounded and cared for.
It’s simple, repeatable, and it sets the tone for your day. How you start truly influences how you finish.
Here’s my personal non-negotiable:
I start my day with eggs and spinach, because I know that getting protein, greens, and something warm first thing helps stabilize my energy and sets me up for better decisions all day long.
And yes—I put protein powder in my coffee. It’s an easy win, it tastes great, and it gives me a boost of protein first thing in the morning.
(No supplements lineup, no almond milk, nothing complicated.)
This works for one reason:
When you begin the day feeling like someone who takes care of their health, the rest of your choices fall into place more naturally.
So as we move through the holidays, ask yourself:
What’s the one thing I can commit to every morning?
A protein-forward breakfast? A 10-minute walk? A glass of water? A moment of calm before the chaos?
Pick the thing that feels doable.
Repeat it.
Let it carry you.
The holidays don’t derail your health—your approach to them does.
And a single consistent morning habit can change everything.
If you want help choosing the right morning anchor for your body and your season of life, I’m here.
